The virtuoso jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt has become renowned in the world for popularising gypsy-jazz just like Raimond Valgre is known in Estonia for his swing melodies. The concert blends the music and style of the two composers and contemporaries. Performed by Ele Raik (vocals), Indrek Kruusimaa (guitar) and Opera-Quartet: Henno Soode (violin), Eivin Toodo (violin), Kerstin Tomson (viola), Mati Leibak (cello).

JAZZ CONCERT “MEETING IN SWING”
Musicians from St. Petersburg and Tallinn meet on stage: David Goloshchokin (vibraphone, violin), Susanna Aleksandra (vocals), Vladimir Vyssotsky (piano), Mihkel Mälgand (bass) and Ahto Abner (percussions).
David Goloshchokin is a renowned Russian jazz musician, the artistic director of the St. Petersburg Jazz Philharmonic Hall and multi-instrumentalist, who has performed all over the world with various artists, including the legendary Duke Ellington. He has also worked closely with Estonian musicians, particularly Aleksander Rjabov , with whom he has a 35-year-long recording (9 recordings) and performing career at various jazz festivals in Russia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, etc. He has also performed with Lembit Saarsalu, Tiit Paulus, Tõnu Naissoo, Toivo Unt and other Estonian jazz musicians.
David Goloshchokin’s and Susanna Aleksandra’s successful performance at the international jazz festival “White Night’s Swing” in St. Petersburg (2012) has resulted in a guest performance in Estonia.
