Vladimir Mischouk



Vladimir Mischouk graduated from the N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory in 1991, continued his education at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki (1990–91), at the Queen Sofía College of Music in Madrid (1992–93) and in Italy at the International Piano Academy Lake Сomo (1993–95). Since 1993 Vladimir Mischouk has taught at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. Currently he is also Professor at the International Piano Academy Lake Como in Italy. He has also led regular master classes throughout the world. Vladimir Mischouk is known as a founder and artistic director of several festivals, such as “Just Friends” (St. Petersburg, 1992–2000), “Dmitri Bashkirov’s Distinguished Pupils” (St. Petersburg, 1998). Due to his initiative, the legendary 20th century pianist Rosalyn Tureck appeared in Russia for the first time. Since 2011, Vladimir Mischouk is Artistic Director of the annual International Russian Music Festival in Staraya Russa.

The pianist appears extensively throughout the world, performing at the most prestigious halls, including the Musikverein in Vienna, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Grand Opéra, Opéra Bastille and Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, La Scala in Milan, Suntory Hall, Orchard Hall, Metropolitan Hall, Tokyo Opera City and Casals Hall in Tokyo, St. Petersburg Philharmonia and St. Petersburg Academic Cappella, Grand and Small halls of the Moscow Conservatoire, the Rockefeller Center in New York, among many others. He has played with such famous orchestras as St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, Russian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, among many others. Vladimir Mischouk has collaborated with conductors including Nikolai Alexeev, Conrad van Alpen, Andrey Anikhanov, Emmanuel Leducq-Barome, Alexander Dmitriev, Juozas Domarkas, Veronika Dudarova, Olari Elts, Valery Gergiev, Igor Golovchin, Vladimir Ziva, Arnold Kats, Ken-Ichiro Kobayashi, Mikhail Pletnev, Alexander Polyanichko, Alain Trudel, Vladislav Chernushenko and musicians, such as violinists Liana Isakadze, Andrey Baranov, Vadim Repin, Lev Klychkov; cellists Ivan Monighetti, Leonid Gorokhov, Sergey Roldugin; singers Olga Kondina, Alexey Markov, Petr Migunov, Marianna Tarasova, Linda Finnie. He is also a regular soloist at world renowned festivals.

Mischouk has won the 1st Prize and the Special Prize for the best performance of Russian music at the All-Russian Piano Competition in Kislovodsk (1989), 3rd Prize at the “Concours International Bösendorfer Empire” (1990), 2nd Prize, the Silver Medal and Rosina Levinne Special Prize for performance of Tchaikovsky’s music at the IX Tchaikovsky International Competition in (1990).
