Reigo Tamm


Reigo Tamm finished Tapa Secondary School in 2008 and began his studies at the Drama School of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre to become an actor under the guidance of Elmo Nüganen. He has also studied acting at Rose Bruford College in London. In 2009–2016 he studied classical singing at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Taavi Tampuu. Reigo Tamm has participated in Jenny Anvelt’s, Giacomo Aragall’s, Virgilijus Noreika’s and Caroline Dowdle’s master classes. Since 2014 he is a soloist with Vanemuine Theatre. His repertoire at the Vanemuine Theatre includes Soldier (Lill’s “Into the Fire”), Mr. Vogelsang (Mozart’s “Der Schauspieldirektor”), Henn (Tubin’s “The Parson of Reigi”), Hans (Aints’s “The Old Barney”), Camille de Rossillon (Lehár’s “Die lustige Witwe”), Verdi’s Messenger (“Aida”) and Ruiz (“Il trovatore”), Schmidt (Massenet’s “Werther”), soloist in concert-performances “Evening with Kálmán” and “Evening with Strauss”. His roles elsewhere include Ivan Lykov (Rimsky-Korsakov’s “The Tsar’s Bride”), Nick (Puccini’s “La fanciulla del West”, stage director José Cura), tailor Motel (Bock’s “Fiddler on the Roof”), Curly (Rodgers’ “Oklahoma”), Father Uuno (Kivirähk’s “Onions and Chocolate”), Soloist (Tormis’ “In the Parisian City of London”, Heinz Liebling (Beneš’ “Auf der grünen Wiese”), Cacoblethes (Meder’s “Die beständige Argenia”), Steuerman (Wagner’s “Der fliegende Holländer”), Adam (Zeller’s “Der Vogelhändler”). He has also played in the musicals “Spring Awakening” and “Shrek”. In summer 2013 he sang in the Aix-en-Provence Opera Festival choir. Reigo Tamm is the winner of the Chrystal Shoe Award (2018).
