Mikheil Sheshaberidze


Born in Kaspi, Georgia, he completed his singing studies in 2006 at the “Vano Sarajishvili” State Conservatory in Tbilisi. In 2007 he attended the masterclass of the US soprano Lella Cuberli and perfected himself with Maestra Gianfranca Ostini. In 2011 he ranked third at the “Gaetano Fraschini” contest for young lyric singers in Pavia. The next year he debuted with great success in the following roles: Pinkerton in Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly”, Don José in Bizet’s “Carmen”, Cavaradossi in Puccini’s “Tosca” and Roberto in Puccini’s “Le Villi”. Furthermore, he won the third prize at the International Lyric Contest “La Città Sonora 2012” (Milan). 2014 saw him as Don José at the Festival Luglio Musicale Trapanese at the “Giuseppe Di Stefano” Theater with Ivo Lipanovic. Immediately after, he opened the season with “Das Liebesverbot” by Wagner at the Verdi Theatre in Trieste singing Claudio. His recent engagements include Ismaele (Verdi’s “Nabucco”, Verdi Theatre in Trieste), Claudio (Wagner’s “Das Liebesverbot”, Teatro Real Madrid), Radames (Verdi’s “Aida”, Arena di Verona), Don José (Bizet’s “Carmen”, Arena di Verona), Cavaradossi (Puccini’s “Tosca”, Verona Philharmonic Theatre), Pollione (Bellini’s “Norma”, Verona Philharmonic Theatre), Dick Johnson (Puccini’s “La fanciulla del West”, Teatro del Giglio, Teatro di Pisa), etc.
