Michaela Selinger studied singing at Linzer Musikgymnasium as well as in Vienna and Basel. She was engaged at Staatsoper Wien in 2005–2010, where she sang R. Strauss’ Octavian (“Der Rosenkavalier”) and Composer (“Ariadne auf Naxos”), Prince Orlofsky (J. Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus”), Wellgunde (Wagner’s “Das Rheingold” and “Die Götterdämmerung”), Mozart’s Idamante (“Idomeneo”) and Cherubino (“Le nozze di Figaro”), Rosina (Rossini’s “Il barbiere di Siviglia”), Nicklausse (Offenbach’s “Les Contes d’Hoffmann”). Since 2010 Michaela Selinger has been the member of the Aalto Theatre in Essen, where she has sung Dejanira (Händel’s “Hercules”), Dorabella (Mozart’s “Così fan tutte”), Romeo (Bellini’s “I Capuleti e i Montecchi”), Brangäne (Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde”), Muse and Nicklausse (Offenbach’s “Les Contes d’Hoffmann”). She has also sung at Salzburg Festival, Opéra de Lyon, Tokyo Opera House, Opéra National de Paris, Glyndebourne Festival, Staatsoper Hamburg among other well-known venues. Her repertoire includes also Kreusa (Reimann’s “Médée”), Hänsel (Humperdinck’s “Hänsel und Gretel”), Magdalena (Wagner’s “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg”), Mélisande (Debussy’s “Pelléas et Mélisande”), etc. Michaela Selinger is also known for her recitals of Lied.
