Marika Muiste


Marika Muiste graduated from Tallinn Ballet School in 1998. She joined the Estonian National Ballet in the same year. Roles: Sylph (“La Sylphide” by Bournonville), Rose (Vàmos’s “Shannon Rose”), Adele (Hynd’s “Rosalinde”), Daughter (Tubin’s “The Goblin”), Swanilda’s friend (Delibes’s “Coppélia”), Lescaut’s Mistress (MacMillan’s “Manon”), Madame Bonacieux (“The Three Musketeers” by Nixon), Klara (Bigonzetti’s “Coppélia”), Ophelia (Titova’s “Hamlet”), Quiteria’s friend (Minkus’ “Don Quixote”), “Dance of the Small Swans” and pas de trois (Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake”), Adele (Hynd’s “Rosalinde”), Spring and Stepsister (Prokofiev’s “Cinderella”), Fairy and Carabosse (“The Sleeping Beauty” by Tchaikovsky), Giselle’s friend (Adam’s “Giselle”), Snow Queen, soloist of “Waltz of the Flowers” and “Chinese Dance” (“The Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky), Beauty (“The Firebird” by Stravinsky), Girl (Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet”), Anaïs (Härm’s “La Dame aux Camélias”), Gypsy (Pugni/Dolgushin’s “Esmeralda”), ballet soloist in the operettas by Strauss’ “Eine Nacht in Venedig” and “Wiener Blut”, Waltz and Mazurka (Fokin’s “Chopiniana”), Chopin/Elo’s “Red With Me”, Teet Kase’s “UrsulaX”, Russel Adamson’s jazz ballets, etc. Marika Muiste has won the Philip Morris Young Dancer’s Award in 2001 and the Klaudia Maldutis scholarship in 2008.
