Marco Gandini has been Associate Director of Franco Zeffirelli and Graham Vick and has worked in the major Italian and international opera houses. Among the highlights of his career are Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” in Livorno for the opening of Teatro Goldoni, attended by President of the Italian Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, Verdi’s “Un Ballo in Maschera” at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Jommelli’s “Betulia Liberata” premiere staged version conducted by Riccardo Muti at Pfingstfestspiele in Salzburg, Puccini’s “La bohème” at Rome Opera with conductor James Conlon, Verdi’s “Simon Boccanegra” at Korean National Opera in Seoul conducted by Myung-Whun Chung, “Viaggio a Reims” at Teatro del Maggio Fiorentino conducted by Daniele Rustioni, “La Bohème” conducted by Myung-Whun Chung as celebration for the 50th anniversary of Korean National Opera in Seoul, then on tour at NCPA in Beijing, “Il Farnace” by Vivaldi in a premiere representation in contemporary epoch at Festival del Maggio in Florence conducted by Federico Maria Sardelli. Verdi’s “Aida” at Teatro Mucipal in Sao Paolo conducted by John Neschling, Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” conducted by Jacques Delacôte and Puccini’s “Tosca” by Oleg Caetani at Teatro Municipal in Sao Paolo, revival of “La Bohème” at Teatro alla Scala in a special cooperation with El Sistema orchestra and Chorus conducted by Dudamel, Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro” in Tokyo and Shanghai conducted by Muhai Tang in an exclusive project of coproduction between Japan and China, Poulenc’s “La Voix Humaine” and a new ballet creation of “La Strada” conducted by Carlo Ponti at the National Opera in Tbilisi, nationally live broadcasted patronized by Italian Ambassador, Georgian Ministery of Culture and Sofia Loren. Marco Gandini has made his debut at Estonian National Opera with new the ballet dramaturgy of Gianluca Schiavoni’s “Medea”. He is a senior professor at Showa University of Music in Tokyo Japan, principal teacher at Teatro alla Scala Academy for Singers in Milan, and holds master classes for Opera Studio at Ticino Musica in Lugano Switzerland.
