Luana Georg


Luana Georg graduated from the Tallinn Ballet School in 1993. During the years 1993–1994 she was the member of the Estonian National Ballet troupe. Since 1999 she is the soloist of the same company. Her repertoire includes Blanche Dubois (Meckler/Ochoa/Salem’s “A Streetcar Named Desire”), the title role in Schiavoni’s ballet “Medea” to the music of Stravinsky, Schnittke and Dead Can Dance, Tatyana (Cranko’s “Onegin”), Jeanne Hébuterne (Edur’s/Aints’ “Modigliani – the Cursed Artist”), Giselle (Adam’s “Giselle”), Rosalinde (Hynd’s “Rosalinde”), Manon and Lescaut’s Mistress (MacMillan’s “Manon”), Sylph (“La Sylphide” by Bournonville), Quiteria (Minkus’ “Don Quixote”), Aurora, Florina (“The Sleeping Beauty” by Tchaikovsky), Marie, Snow Queen and Sugar Plum Fairy (“The Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky), Cinderella (Prokofiev’s “Cinderella”), Juliet (Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet”), Clara (Delibes’s/Bigonzetti’s “Coppélia”), Mélisande (Härm’s “Pelléas et Mélisande”), Amour (Minkus’ Don Quixote), pas de trois, “Dance of the Small Swans” (Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake”), pas de deux from Bournonville’s “Flower Festival in Genzano”, pas de deux from Asafyev’s “The Flame of Paris”, Beauty (“The Firebird” by Stravinsky), Woman (MacMillan’s “Song of the Earth”), solo in Elo’s “Red With Me” and Edur’s “Silent Monologues”,Rose (Vámos’ “Shannon Rose”), etc. Luana Georg has been given several awards: The Klaudia Maldutis’ Prize (2001), Philip Morris Dance Prize (2000, 2002), Estonian Theatre Award (2004 and 2016), President of the Republic’s Cultural Foundation Young Cultural Figure Award (2007), ERGO Dance Award (2011).
