Kimmo Viskari has worked as a designer for opera, theatre, TV and film productions. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of Art and Design Helsinki (Aalto University) and also worked as a graphic designer as well as an exhibition architect. His works for the stage include “The Odyssey” by Homer-Walcott, “Woyzeck” by Büchner, “4.48 Psychosis” by Kane, “Goldberg Variations” by Tabori, “Silent Music” by Noren, “Blackbird” by Harrower, “The Dance of Death” by Strindberg, “Othello” by Shakespeare, “Betrayal” by Pinter, “Aamu” by Baran (all at the Finnish National Theatre), “The Heart of Darkness” by Conrad (Helsinki Festival), “The Lovers of the Castle” by Nuorvala (Turku Music Festival), “The Fall of the House of Usher” by Glass and “Akseli” by Hakola (world premiere, all at the Finnish Chamber Opera), “Carmen” by Bizet and “Tännhauser” by Wagner (both at the Tampere Opera), “La Fanciulla del West” by Puccini, “Rasputin” by Rautavaara (world premiere), “The Queen of Spades” by Tchaikovsky (both at the Finnish National Opera), “Faust” by Gounod, “The Horseman” by Sallinen, “La Fenice” by Hakola (world premiere, all at the Savonlinna Opera Festival) and “La Forza del Destino” by Verdi (Bern Opera).
