Katrin Targo received her Bachelor’s Degree at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (2004, the singing class of Rostislav Gurjev) and Master’s Degree in 2007. In 2005–2006 she studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Prof. F. Lukasovsky and sang in the Arnold Schönberg Choir. She has attended the master classes of many renowned singing teachers, such as S. Wahlroos-Kaitila, M. Acda, T. Wiedenhofer, T. Kahry, M. Hrafnsdottir, R. Pearney, etc. Currently she studies at the Opera Studio of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Professors C. Visca, C. U. Meier and R. Nickler. Her repertoire includes Belinda (Purcell’s Dido and Aenas), Ilia (Mozart’s Idomeneo), Lauretta (Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi), Frasquita (Bizet’s Carmen), Cleopatra (Händel’s Julius Caesar) and the soprano parts in Bach’s St John Passion and St Matthew Passion, Händel’s Messiah and Pärt’s Te Deum. Katrin Targo has also performed in the supplement chorus of the Vienna State Opera, chamber choir Voces Musicales and the vocal group I.C.E. Katrin is the winner of the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe endowment (2007), Association of Estonian Professional Musicians endowment (2009, 2010 and 2011) and the winner of the Mart Saar Singing Competition (2008).
