Kaire Vilgats graduated from Tallinn Georg Ots Music High School (the singing class of Silvi Vrait). In addition, she has studied the accordion for seven years with Tiina Kiibus. In 2008–2014 she was the music director of the Estonian State Puppet and Youth Theatre. Her repertoire includes various roles in musicals, such as Magda (Steinman’s “Dance of the Vampires”, 2000), Schönberg’s/Boublil’s Mme Thenardier (“Les Misérables”, 2001) and Gigi (“Miss Saigon”, 2002), Irene Roth (Gershwin’s “Crazy for You”, 2004), The Housekeeper (Leigh’s “Man of La Mancha”, 2005), Esther Sherman (Margoshes’ “Fame!”, 2006), Carlotta (Kopit’s/Yeston’s “Phantom”, 2007), Reno (Porter’s “Anything Goes”, 2008, all at the Tallinna Linnahall), Bite (Dvinjaninov’s/Liitmaa’s/Kreem’s “Romeo and Juliet”, 2007), Malvina (Ibragimov’s/Pehk’s/Sooäär’s “The Golden Key or the Unknown Adventures of Buratino”, 2008), Miss Bock (Lindgren’s/Keller’s “Karlsson-on-the-Roof”, 2011), Grandmother (Kikas’/Kreem’ “The Werewolf”, 2011), Dragon (Lindsay-Abaire’s/Tesori’s “Shrek”, 2013, all at the Estonian State Puppet and Youth Theatre), Golde (Stein’s/Bock’s “Fiddler on the Roof”, Vanemuine Theatre, 2003), Crystal (Ashman’s/Menken’s “The Little Shop of Horrors”, 2000), Story Teller (Kander’s/Ebb’s “Zorba”, both at the Estonian Drama Theatre, 2000), Maria Loorberg (Ehin’s “Wrestled a Hundred Men”, Endla Theatre, 2012), Mrs Wilkinson (John’s/Hall’s “Billy Elliot”, 2015, Noorteater) etc. In 1999 she received the 3rd place at the ETV production “Two Measures Ahead” and in 2009 she received the Estonian State Puppet and Youth Theatre’s Colleague Award in the category “The Greatest Surpriser”.
