The lyric/dramatic soprano Elisabeth Teige graduated from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, Academy of Opera in 2012. In the seasons 2012/13 and 2013/14 she was a member of the Young Artist program at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet (DNO&B).
Her roles at DNO&B include Sacerdotessa (Verdi’s “Aida”), Kate Pinkerton (Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly”), Bea (Knut Vaages’ “Khairos”) as well as soloist parts in Christmas and New Year’s Eve Concerts.
She sang Elena in Boitos’ “Mefistofeles” at the Opera in Krakow (2014) and appeared as a guest in the same production in Trondheim (2015). In March 2015 she was one of the soloists at the gala concert “Young Opera Voices of the World” at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Her repertoire also includes Feldmarschallin (Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier”), Cio-Cio-San (Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly”), Mozart’s Arminda (“La finta giardiniera”) and the First Lady (“The Magic Flute”), Micaëla (Bizet’s “Carmen”) and the title role in Puccini’s “Sour Angelica”.
Elisabeth made her Wagner debut at the Norwegian National Opera as Senta in “The Flying Dutchman” (2015). In the season 206/17 she will sing Elsa in Wagner’s “Lohengrin” (St. Gallen), Senta in “The Flying Dutchman” (Frankfurt) and Leonore in Beethoven’s “Fidelio” (Norwegian National Opera & Ballet), soprano part in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 (Malta) and Carlotta in Schreker’s “Die Gezeichneten” (St. Gallen).
