Elīna Volkmane has studied singing at Jazeps Vitols Latvian Music Academy (2002–2006, with Kristina Gailite) and at the Norwegian Academy of Music (2006–2009, with Prof. Barbro Marklund-Petersone and Prof. Håkan Hagegård). She has participated in numerous master classes by Friedemann Röhlig, Elizabeth Norberg-Schulz, Barbara Dobretsberger, Roger Vignoles and many others. Her repertoire includes Händel’s Damon (Acis and Galatea) and Atalanta (Xerxes), Mozart’s Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) and Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Lisa (Bellini’s La sonnambula), Carolina (Cimarosa’s Il matrimonio segreto), as well as soprano parts in oratorios, such as J. S. Bach’s Kantate No 140 and Kantate No 21, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mozart’s Requiem, Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, Händel’s Messiah, Rossini’s Stabat Mater, etc. She is the prize winner of the 7th Klaudia Taev Competition for Young Opera Singers (2011).
