Atlan Karp obtained his Master’s Degree in singing in 2008 from Sibelius Academy in Finland. In 2007–12 he was a soloist with Vanemuine Theatre and since 2012 he is a free-lance singer. His repertoire includes Verdi’s Iago (“Otello”), Rigoletto (“Rigoletto”) and di Luna (“I trovatore”), Wagner’s Kurwenal (“Tristan und Isolde”) and Klingsor (“Parsifal”), Orestes (Strauss’ “Electra”), Scarpia (Puccini’s “Tosca”), Mozart’s Figaro (“Le nozze di Figaro”) and don Alfonso (“Così fan tutte”), George III (Davies’ “Eight Songs for a Mad King”) and Onegin (Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin”) as well as baritone parts in oratorios, such as Brahms’ “Ein deutsches Requiem”, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Rachmaninov’s “Bells”, Vaughan Williams’ “Sea Symphony”, Rossini’s “Petite messe solennelle” and many song cycles: Schubert’s “Winterreise” and “Schwanengesang”, Mahler’s “Kindertotenlieder”, Brahms’ “Vier ernste Gesänge”, Ravel’s “Don Quichotte à Dulcinée”, Ibert’s “Chansons de Don Quichotte“, Mussorgsky’s “Songs and Dances of Death”, E. Mägi’s “Haikus”, Tamberg’s “Five Romances to the Poems of Sandor Petöfi”.
