Argo Valdmaa graduated from the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy in 2000. Since 2006 he has created works for Endla Theatre and since 2008 he is a video designer at the same theatre. His most important designs include Roy Strider’s “The Rebels” (Stage Director Andres Noormets, 2009), William Gibson’s “Miracle Worker” (Stage Director Kalju Komissarov, 2011), Lisa Stadler’s “The End” (Stage Director Andres Noormets, 2011), Peter Quilter’s “Boyband” (Stage Director Andres Dvinjaninov, 2012), Maurice Maeterlinck’s “The Bluebird” (Stage Director Ingo Normet, 2013), Mart Kivastik’s “Vares” (Stage Director Kalju Komissarov, 2014). He has created video designs for numerous Pärnu city events. In cooperation with the Pärnu City Orchestra he has directed the DVD titled “The Travelling Songs” (music Tauno Aints, texts Madis Kalmet, conductor Jüri Alperten, 2014) and created the video design for Lionel Bart’s concert performance “Musical Moments With Oliver” (Stage Director Meelis Sarv, 2015). He has cooperated with Janek Savolainen on the lighting design for Savolainen’s dance production “Master and Marguerite” (2015) at Vanemuine Theatre. In the Estonian National Opera he created the video design for Tubin’s ballet “The Goblin” (2015).
