Alexander Krasnov graduated from the Urals State Conservatoire in the name of Mussorgsky (2008). He has been a guest performer at the Mikhailovsky Theatre (2009) and a soloist at the Chelyabinsk Opera House (2009–11) and the Novosibirsk Theatre of Opera and Ballet (2011–12). He has also worked with the Latvian National Opera, Mariinsky Theatre and The Bolshoi Theatre. Since 2012 he is a First Soloist at the Ekaterinburg State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. His repertoire features over twenty roles including: Ruslan (Glinka’s “Ruslan and Lyudmila”), Tchaikovsky’s Bertrand (“Iolanta”), Tomsky (“The Queen of Spades”), Varlaam (Mussorgsky’s “Boris Godunov”), Prince Igor, Prince Galitsky (Borodin’s “Prince Igor”), Rimsky-Korsakov’s Gryaznoi, Malyuta-Skuratov (“The Tsar’s Bride”), Mizgir (“The Snow Maiden”), Salieri (“Mozart and Salieri”), Farfarello (Prokofiev’s “The Love for Three Oranges”), Verdi’s Iago (“Otello”), Ferrando (“Il trovatore”), Scarpia, Cesare Angelotti (Puccini’s “Tosca”), Méphistophélès (Gounod’s “Faust”), Wagner’s Dutchman (“Der fliegende Holländer”), Herald, King (“Lohengrin”), Don Pasquale (Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale”), Basilio (Rossini’s “Il barbiere di Siviglia”) and Zuniga (Bizet’s “Carmen”). He has toured Germany, Great Britain and the Czech Republic.
