Guest performances of Helikon-Opera in the Estonian National Opera
On 13th–15th of October, the Estonian National Opera will swap the stage with Moscow Helikon-Opera. Helikon-Opera will give the Estonian audience the chance to see Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera “The Tsar’s Bride”. The dreadful story telling of a beautiful fiancée of Ivan the Terrible, brutal rivalry, withering love and poisoned jealousy is based on the true events of the past. Not trying to recreate the colorful details of the way of life, the theatre is thoroughly recreating the spirit of those dark times, searching for psychological motives of the deeds, trying to answer eternal questions standing before a native Russian. On 14th of October the Helikon-Opera will perform an Opera Gala. The concert features soloists of the Helikon-Opera, Orchestra and Chorus as well as the soloists of the Estonian National Opera.
In return Estonian National opera will give the Russian audience the chance to see Gounod’s opera “Faust”, Tubin’s ballet “The Goblin”, and an Opera Gala.
