“Modigliani – the cursed artist” and “Faust” to be recorded by ERR
ERR 21.01.2014 / ERR TV company will be working at the Estonian National Opera house from 22 to 25 January in order to record the two most popular stagings – opera “Faust” by Gounod (staged by Dmitri Bertman, in the role of Mephistopheles Ain Anger) and ballet “Modigliani – the cursed artist” (staged by Thomas Edur to the music by Tauno Aints). As scheduled, the TV audience will see the performances later in the autumn of 2014.
Directors of the recording are Ruti Murusalu and Ülle Õun, sound directors Tanel Klesment and Kaspar Karner, the producer is Ruth Alaküla.
Mezzo TV broadcasts Estonian National Ballet’s “The Nutcracker”
On January 8 and 11 at 10.30, Mezzo TV will broadcast “The Nutcracker” by the Estonian National Ballet, recorded on December 18, 2012 in Teatro La Fenice. The touring production was recorded on the 120th anniversary of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker”. The leading roles feature Alena Shkatula, Galina Rohumaa and Vladislav Lantratov as a guest soloist from the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. The conductor is Mihhail Gerts.
Estonian National Ballet gave altogether five performances to an audience of 6000 people. The successful tour embarked on cooperation with Teatro La Fenice and the Estonian National Ballet will return to Venice in December 2014 with “La Bayadère”, staged by Thomas Edur.
“The Nutcracker” premiered in the Estonian National Ballet in 2010 and it was staged by Ben Stevenson (Texas Ballet Theatre).
Guest soloists in January
Estonian National opera will start the new year on 3 January with opera “La traviata”, conducted by maestro Eri Klas. First ballet performance, “The Nutcracker” takes place on 4 January.
