A new piano for the children of Sloviansk
Estonian National Opera will hold a charity concert “Estonia for Ukraine” on October 20, in order to use the money raised from the donations to purchase a new Estonia Piano for the pupils of Sloviansk School of Fine Arts. Together with the soloists of the Estonian National Opera and Ballet the soloists and principal dancers of the National Opera of Ukraine will perform. The program features pieces from classical repertoire. A native of Donetsk and a soloist of the Estonian National Opera, Pavlo Balakin will give a speech.
There is no fixed price for the concert – everyone can decide how much they want to donate. Seats can be acquired by contacting the box office of the Estonian National Opera via phone +372 683 1210 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition, it is possible to support the project with a money transfer to the bank account of the Estonian National Opera EE351010002011259003 with the keyword “Ukraine”. Donations are also collected into the charity boxes available in the Estonian National Opera beginning from September 29. It is possible to make donations until December 1.
Sloviansk has a population of about 100 000 and is situated in eastern Ukraine. The war-ravished city is currently being rebuilt. The Sloviansk School of Fine Arts suffered considerable damage, but after repair works has 600 pupils studying singing, instruments, ballet or visual arts. The school has an auditorium of 300 seats and an Estonia Piano bought in the 70s that will now be replaced with a new one with the help of kind donators.
