New leading pair in "Swan Lake"

On December 16, Olga Malinovskaja will debut in the role of Odette/Ottilie and Artjom Maksakov in the role of the Prince in the ballet "Swan Lake" by Tchaikovsky.
Olga Malinovskaja has been a ballet soloist at the National Opera since 2008. She graduated from the Moscow State Choreography Institute in 2007. She has performed in tours in Japan and Italy. In 2006 she won the gold medal at the international competition “Dance Olympus” in Berlin. Olga Malinovskaja has worked at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala (Milan). Her roles at the Estonian National Opera are Quiteria (“Don Quijote“), Marie (“Nutcracker“), Constance (“The Three Musketeers“). Artjom Maksakov graduated from the Tallinn Ballet School in 2004. He started working in the ballet company of the Estonian National Opera already in 2003; from 2006 he is a ballet soloist at the Estonian National Opera. In 2007–2008 he danced at the Dutch National Ballet and from 2008 again at the Estonian National Opera. His repertoire involves: the Nutcracker Prince and Chinese Dance (“Nutcracker“), James (“La Sylphide“), Basilio (“Don Quijote“), the Prince and the Hunter (“Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs“), the Prince, Bluebird (“Sleeping Beauty“), d’Artagnan (“The Three Musketeers“), Benvolio and Mercutio (“Romeo and Juliet“) and many others. He has successfully participated in international competitions in Sweden (in 2003, 3rd place), France (in 2003, 3rd place), New York (in 2007, finalist). He was also awarded with the travelling award of Crystal Shoe in 2007 for the following roles: Mercutio („Romeo and Juliet“), the Prince („Nutcracker“). Olga Malinovskaja and Artjom Maksakov won the hearts of the audience as well as the dance critics in the ballet “The Three Musketeers” that premiered this year. The performance on November 16 will be conducted by Arvo Volmer. The young soloists can also be seen on December 18.
