Arne Mikk graduated from Aleksander Arder’s singing class at the Estonian Academy of Music in 1961. He trained as a producer at Berlin Komische Oper with W. Felsenstein in 1972 and at the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre with B. Pokrovski in 1974-1975. Arne Mikk has been working at the Estonian National Opera since 1952, in the beginning as a choir singer and later on as a dramaturgy manager and a producer’s assistant. Since 1970 he is a stage director at the Estonian National Opera. In 1977 – 1995 he was the Chief Stage Director and in 2002 - 2004 the Artistic Director of the Estonian National Opera. Arne Mikk is working as a pedagogue at the Estonian Academy of Music since 1976. Arne Mikk has worked as a guest producer in Moscow Bolshoi Theatre and Chamber Opera, in Buenos Aires Teatro Colon and in different theatres in Schwerin, Krasnoyarsk, Tampere, Lahti, Helsinki and Turku. Main productions: Verdi's Attila, Luisa Miller, La Traviata, Nabucco and Ernani; Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov; Boito's Mefistofele; Tubin's The Parson of Reigi and Barbara von Tisenhusen; Puccini's La Bohème; Händel’s Alcina; Wagners Der Fliegende Holländer; Shostakovich’s Katerina Ismailova;
